Music
It's pretty amazing how music is able to soothe one's stressed mind and calm one's soul. Music seems to have this penicillin effect on the battered human brain. Listen to bombastic music and one gets the motivation to do stuff. Listen to baroque music and one feels at peace instantly. Listen to happy music and one's spirit gets lifted. Listen to sad love songs and one feels that things could have been worse, and picks oneself up from the ground.
This interesting effect doesn't seem to be easily seen on its video counterpart. Perhaps it's because it takes a longer time and requires more concentration to watch a video than listening to music, and therefore a milder sense of guilt which otherwise may have hindered the healing effects of the content. One can easily do work the entire day with music playing, but not effectively multi-task with videos. But on the other hand, there're definitely many inspirational videos that will affect the mood and mental well-being of a person.
I wonder what makes such content have such penetrating impact on the human soul.
