Such is Life.
A colleague who joined the company around the same time as I did 2 years ago, who's the same age as I am, has just left the company in pursuit of her love up in the Bay area. Kinda sad that she's leaving. After all, we were working partners for many things and we started off together learning the ropes of the working society. Oh well, when the time comes, we still have to say goodbye.

That's perhaps also another reason why I didn't really interact with many people here. Here, I'm just a passer-by. I do not belong to this place. One day, I'll have to leave, and after a few years, forgotten. So why spend the trouble cultivating relationships that will soon wither in time? But then again, I did still make a few pretty good friendships with some.

Went back to Madison just a while ago, and met up with 2 of my college (non-singaporean) friends. Felt kinda good that we actually still meet up and talk after 2 years. Will such friendship wither away in time???

On another note, I'm angry at my landlord for not notifying me that my auto transfer date has expired last month, resulting in a late payment this month. I'm not at all optimistic about getting back my late fees with this reasoning. Blardy greedy Americans. They're only good at shirking responsibilities when things happen and collecting money at every single mistake. Rentals, bank payments, air tix reservations, vehicle impound, etc... It's so explicit that when they need you, they do everything to entice you, that you're the king, and when you're in trouble, they ditch you. I guess such is the result of an economy that relies on capitalism. There's only cash involved, no emotions. You make a mistake, you have to literally pay for it. I totally hate the way this country operates.

Perhaps, such is how most parts of the world operate... why can't this world be a little more humane in general with regards to business, so that there's a little more room for errors, so that it's a little more pleasant to live in?
