It's shipped!!! Finally!!! whahahahaha~ after months of toil... thinking back, it's only 5 mths... Time seems to fly by so quickly, and yet when thinking about the long nights spent in office, all that cooking seemed so slow... Could still remember when DJ first transferred me over to help out with the TV... it was in such bad shape! And the widgets I was working on, was soooo bad, sooo crash-prone, soooo inefficient and sooooo severely bugged. I implemented tons of code, came up with all sort of ingenious algorithms, spent long nights and weekends, and finally made it much more efficient, performance-wise and memory-wise, as well as less bug-prone and sufficiently generic for portability and future enhancements. The experience was...just like... cleaning up my Wisconsin apartment before I left!!! So much stuff to clean out at the start, time flies, and at the end of the day, it's presentable, it's fixed and then... I moved on.
Moved on... yes. Am moving on after this over to a whole new world, to the memory-rich world, over to the server side. Will be fun, will be interesting, and will definitely have tons of things which I really would like to learn. I'm excited!
Just read in ST that the average hours people working in sg are 46.2 hours/week or 9.2 hr/day. Work/life balance issues. I guess for the last 5 mths, my average hours are easily 60-70hrs/wk considering all the weekends and long nights spent. Shall treat myself to some relaxation before running my engine again. This time, it's going to be an even further and arduous journey.
heh~ The long weekend, coupled with a timely release of the product, the atmosphere in the office is really different today. No more screams from crashes or rank A/B bugs from the SQA (testers) or from the leader. Everyone's happy, and pple cleaning up their cubicles and playing fools' ball. Me? Blogging in office. heh~ finally could find the time to blog, and send emails to people.
Happy. Shall look forward to playing with my brother and his gf in the weekend. wheee!!!
