Impracticality.
There are many different kinds of support I get from family and friends who care... some give direct support, others give cautionary support... whatever the support is, the driving force behind is the same - they have your best interest at heart... and I feel fortunate to have people who care around me. One really don't need many... just a few is enough to feel it. Thank you, guys!

Impracticality is the topic of this entry. Yuan yuan chun said that LDR is impractical. Physical presence plays a vital role in a relationship. Indeed, I really can't dismiss his claims as invalid, because it is indeed important, and yuan yuan chun is someone who speaks from experience, which further shows the great importance of this. But I personally disagree on the impracticality part, because I've seen relationships which survived that ordeals of long distance. Besides, I'm also not in favour of an LDR either.

The reason why I disagreed that it certainly won't work it is that no matter how important a factor physical presence, or intimacy, is, it still shouldn't be the MAIN or ONLY driving factor of a relationship. If a relationship is based on physical presence alone, it's just too superficial, and I'd be the first to leave that relationship, or I wouldn't even pursue it at all in the first place.

My search for a life-time partner has evolved greatly. It has evolved to more than a simple soulmate. It's a partner that I'm looking for, a partner who'd work together to fulfil the dreams that both of us have, dreams in all aspect of life. To find a soulmate is easy, to find a partner to be physically intimate with is also easy, but to find someone who thinks the same as you do, and have similar interests is hard. Such people don't come by everyday, in fact, they don't even come by every year! What is a matter of a few months compared to 50 years of companionship with the right person? Shouldn't we be looking for the right one, instead of a less-than-right one? And if the right one finally appears, doesn't it make sense to do whatever it takes to get together?

5 years... 5 years since my last (and first) relationship... I left her, saying that I'd find one who'd be able to give me the happiness and craziness i need, the one who'd make my life complete and perfect... 5 years... I haven't met anyone even close to that... Many are acceptable, but not perfect. Many are really smart, many have really high EQ, many have a wide variety of skills and interests... but none matches the perfection I'm looking for... The perfection is simple, and probably is an imperfect perfection. This perfection is not true perfection. This perfection, is one that correctly matches in different aspects of life, like dreams, interests, perception on things like love and relationships, etc... This criteria for perfection varies from individuals. The perfect person for me, is definitely not the perfect person for someone else. It's just like a custom-made shirt perfectly made for me, probably won't fit as snugly on someone else. And so, simply based on this, it is hard for untrue ones to come together unless people settle for only acceptable standards.

I'm not sure what I am in for. But one response is sufficient to refute his claims and concern; I don't know whether I'll regret falling in or not, but I know I'd definitely regret my entire life not trying out. And more substantially, to be a successful businessman, I should trust my judgment, after gathering sufficient information. Also, the confidence of my own credentials is sufficient to pale out most competitors because a find like myself also don't appear everyday. =)

LDR-wise. What I can only say is considerable and conscious commitment and efforts have to come from both parties. Leaving it to the natural way leads to a death march, because time has a very unique special power - the ability to 冲淡一切. And I bet many couples have fallen prey to it, even if they're physically together. If nothing is done to spice up life, it'll become bland, and it doesn't matter if a couple is together 24 hrs physically or in spirit.

Staying in sg does indeed give people a very skewed perception of the world. I used to think sg is just like any other country, and can comfortably make judgments based on singapore's model. But I was totally wrong. Having all your friends within 30 min of each other, or meeting all your friends at a common place is a totally rare thing in many other parts of the world - US, China, India or even Malaysia. Perhaps only Hong Kong is the other Singapore. LDRs and relocations are so common in these countries, because one simply can't rely on one's locality to find the right one who's able to give one happiness... So this shows that happiness knows no distance. It only knows commitment, which only the right ones can provide.

Not in any way negatively rebuking yuan yuan chun's precautions lahz... Just that it did trigger me to start thinking (which means I do listen to advice!)... and so I've decided to write down my thoughts. Like I said, I appreciate yuan yuan chun's opinions cos clearly, he has my interests at heart, and it's more than valid. And also like I said, I may be bad in everything else, but I trust my judgment - the judgment of the right one. I may fail, it may not work out. And even if there's a next right one, she may come in another 4 years or longer, and she may not even be comparable to this one. I don't need the best, I just need the right one, the one who'd work out for me, especially when I have already set the bars so high.

The only thing I can say about this girl is, although I'm not sure how she feels about me, for me, I can easily name more than 10 things about her that I majorly like, but can't really concretely even name one which I majorly dislike, plus the feeling is there. Of course, minor differences exist lahz... but like I always say, as long as it doesn't set a landmine off, it's a good difference. I'm not looking for a female LJ man... eeks... gives me the creeps when imagining a female LJ. hahhhaa~

yupz! Have a great day guys... And esp to yuan yuan chun. Have a great bday weekend! Thanks! And yes, I'd definitely go kb to u if im sad. hahahhaa~ Come on, what are friends for man??? And remember my feng shui report! =)

A song which aptly expresses my current situation and thoughts. Can't find another one which is more apt than this... from the first line to the last line... Like before, the song can be found on my noise polluting machine on the right.

~~~
我确定你就是那我心中如花的羔羊
你是我的天使是我的梦想
我搂你在怀里,装进我的身体
让你我的血液交融在一起
你确定看到我为你披上那温柔的羊皮
是一男人无法表露的脆弱感情
我有多爱你,就有多少柔情
我相信这柔情定能感动天地
Inspiration Quotes
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.
Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
