Char Kway Teow
My masterpiece, just that it doesn't have hum, nor does it have lap cheong. In fact, it doesn't even have much kway teow in it as it has pretty much disintegrated on boiling, leaving only the noodles. The closest resemblance this dish has with char kway teow is perhaps the fact that it's charred. hahaha~ Oh well, still tastes yummi-licious to me. Spent 2 whole hrs on it and made enough for 4 days, ie 8 meals cos I underestimated the noodles and other ingredients, which is a blessing in disguise. It saved me 30 bucks and 4 days of cooking! Woot! More S'pore couples turn to IVF. Not going to discuss anything about the treatment, or giving birth. The interesting that struck me about this is the value of a child. For normal fortunate couples, getting a child is pretty much free, if not even accidental. Of course, we do not include the cost of labour, because that's common for both normal birth and IVF. But the interesting question is, how much do you value your child? Would you pay 20-30k for a treatment which may even prove futile? Or should a child even be measured monetarily? Would you rather adopt one for free instead? Pretty interesting questions, especially if you're in a situation whereby 20-30k is a life and death sum of money. I don't even have 30k to spend now. Second Life. http://secondlife.com/whatis/ This is a really interesting online 3D game, which interacts with the real world. I can't believe it that the developers of the game could actually successfully incorporate a real-world charity aspect into it without compromising on its fun. I looked at it, and it really looks fun, especially with a truly customizable capability where you actually write scripts to create the behavior of your own invention. If you think this is great, you'd be even more apalled to find that people actually make real-world living off this game, by doing virtual business in the game and earning real cash! No, not training characters, but providing services in the games. To give an example, you can create stuff and sell for money. That's a business, and more importantly, it's your own business because only you know how to create the stuff through your own real-world designer expertise. Yup, I'll definitely check on it when I ever have the time. I will excel in everything! My mood seems as volatile as the stock market. A little depressed yesterday, and bright and sunny today. Of course, there's some driving factor lahz. I'm suddenly determined to do well in my work, my dreams and my relationships again. I don't care what the future holds for me, I shall just do my best and what I can now. I'm sure God will pave everything out nicely for me eventually as He has done in the past. =) |
