"Auntie! Chai Tow Kway, 块半,加黑!"
I'll always remember this order. It came from a friend at JC, the same kok guy with the fire extinguisher joke. The reason why this left such a deep impression in me is because after that, he complained to me that it's too sweet. durhz... And this guy is now a medical doctor... and I assure everyone here that he's one of those people who'd do anything to save your life. So don't worry about that. =)
And yes, those are the times when Chai Tow Kway only costs $1.50... at least in a school setting.
Discovery Channel.
Was watching this at work today and came across two interesting things.
Question: Walt Disney was frozen upon his death in hopes that one day he'll be revived. True or False?
Of course false lahz... but the interesting question is, would you like to be freezed up so that you may one day come back to life, when medical technology is advanced enough to do so? Or would you prefer to just die and that's it... go for recarnation?
Personally I would definitely opt for the latter... Imagine if this really comes true in the future, and you're there, alone, without your family and friends. What meaning is there to life already, when your beloved ones are no longer around? Yes, granted that you may opt to have your wife to accompany you... it still feels weird to remain in an age which you don't belong to. There really will be generation gap... Imagine you're talk about the hybrid car, Mercedes Benz, that you used to have and someone replied that he has a Benz that goes to Jupiter? You'd be condemned suaku man... Besides, if they've the technology to revive you at that time, the world is probably bursting from over population, because no one dies, but more are coming in... That is the time which is commonly known as 世界末日. We're really courting our doom if that happens...
Even now, the trend is turning towards nuclear power as energy sources... Even country Melayu is going to do that... and how much trust can you put into a kiao tor in operating and MAINTAINING an advanced power plant like that, when they first say that they'll introduce oil subsidies, and then stop it suddenly when they realize it's draining their resources, and now going to offer subsidies again when oil prices drop because of angry mobs spit at them? The world is really courting their doom this time... Imagine a bunch of Chernobyls exploding together... Good luck!
Talking about nuclear power... It really doesn't make sense that US is actively preventing everyone from making nuclear weapons when they themselves have it... There's really not much persuasion there... The tau si calling the black bean black. But then again, I do support them lahz... Imagine North Korea and Iran both have nuclear weapons... Not everyone is trusted with fire man.
Ok, I've digressed, once again. Back to Discovery Channel.
The second one is about earwigs. And if you don't know what is an earwig, the definition of it is "any of numerous elongate, nocturnal insects of the order Dermaptera, having a pair of large, movable pincers at the rear of the abdomen. "
And so, the Discovery Channel was talking about this earwig... It showed how scary it could be when it got into a person's ear. It showed a guy, who's infested with it, and that the earwig has crawled into its ear, and with its pincers, slowly bore into the brain. The doctor said that the earwig has already laid thousands of eggs in his skull already and these brain-eating insects are slowly chewing his brain away, bit by bit... Then the camera displayed the patient's horrified look upon receiving that news.
After that... they said that this isn't true... I was like diaoz... I was so pulled into that story and got myself convinced... And now they said it isn't true... It really reminds me of the story last time my bro and I saw on TV about Albert Einstein and his teleportation invention. Both of us were staring awe, and in the end, they say that it isn't true... Damn it!!! I'M NOT WATCHING DISCOVERY CHANNEL AGAIN!!!
Anyway, the reason why it isn't possible for an earwig to get into your brain is because firstly, there is a lack of oxygen deep into the skull... Next, the acidity as it gets deeper into the ear rises so much that it's not possible for an insect to survive for extended durations. So, that's it...
Brother's Single Letter Naming Convention.
It's really intriguing to see how bro uses single letter to identify people in his stories (see his blog). I guess I should give it a try and see how it feels like.
