Wonder why I havent been complaining much abt work lately? It's bcos I didn't have the time to complain!!!!!!!

Finally... am almost done with that POS thing (piece of shit). And guess what, I really managed to resolve the issue on dynamic loading using a HDD, that bug I said the last time that even an engineer with more than 20 years of experience couldn't resolve! hahah okok... probably he didn't have 2 wks to slowly decipher the code like I have and the code then probably couldn't support this... But then again, guess what? I was stupid enough to work on the old code on the new system! which meant that the reason I had so much headache and having such a hard time resolving, was because I was working on the old code all along! And solving what has already been solved! But of course, I managed to solve it using the old code, then I realized that it was the old one... oh well... what can I say... I'm such a tian cai!!! wahahah~ Even then, I still wasted like 2 wks of my time resolving something that has been done... No wonder when I asked the relevant people for help, they're saying things which didn't tally with what I saw!!! Cow head doesn't match horse mouth.

But anyhow, I managed to finally resolve that issue, learnt a lot about the system, and resolved even more bugs that came with the old system. Made the system more robust and attractive. My very first quality contribution to the company! ... even though I spent more time than I should. My project lead and I even started talking about back up plans should this not work out! Oh well...

And it's like, on continual investigation, I became the only one with the most knowledge about the particular system, which means I became the most suitable person to solve the problem! It felt like I'd be the one who'd make or break the project! Such responsibilities... oh my... and yes it's going out to the stores in May! wahaha~ And I'd be able to personally see it in action! How exciting!

ok... I had exaggerated. it's really not that big a project. But at least, I was the sole person driving it. =) hee~ a total of 3 wks, plus a few OT nights.

Meeting today. Damn stressed. I was like the only one not talking much during the meeting. But hey, I was the only new guy in there man! All the others are like how experienced!!! I was trying my best catch up with their points and suggestions here and there! For 1.5 hrs, ideas were shooting here and there, and I totally have no idea on how to respond to any of them. Oh well... but at least, now I understand a little bit more on what they're saying. A good first step, but vastly insufficient. Gotta make plans to contribute at least something next time!!! But it's hard for a new guy like me to say something and know for certain, it's not something stupid. Oh well... there's much to learn.

Performance Review. On fiscal year end, I just submitted my own performance review to my manager. And i was asked to rate myself. "Outstanding". hahah that's what I really dared to rate myself as. Oh well... probably not really that outstanding as compared to the rest, but hey, that's what I feel about myself right? hahahhaa~ No outstanding means no chance for pay rise. No pay rise means LJ will be poor and unhappy. so must put outstanding. :P

Whopper Bars. Wanted to write about this long ago. BK is setting up another chain called Whopper bars, to specialize on BK whoppers. I was like ??? Isn't there already enough burger fast food around? Why is there a need to set up something so similar and compete with yourself? And is that being fair to their current franchise owners? Well...

Went to the flower fields 2 wks ago with my bro and his fiancee! wahahah~ Pretty flowers! =) Haven't seen so many ronanculus in my life! Overdose liaoz...
