Finally it's the end of the week. Again, the week was spent reading more files... of course, some time must be spent looking at the files, cos after all, it's cutting edge technology *ow*... Really, whatever we learnt from school, is just like the tip of the tip of the ice berg. Alright, I'm after all a newbie, so am not expected a lot in the first place, ie, much less responsibilities.

Hmm, talking about responsibilities, I have to reiterate that it feels sooo good to be relieve of responsibilities! Have taken up quite a bit of responsibilities since secondary school, and that load progressively became larger. In college, it's more than just a single responsibility. Much responsibility and leadership is needed in different facets of work.

Work... Ahhh... Remember I was complaining earlier about being the youngest in the company? There's this new Israeli girl who just came in this week! It's supposed to be last week, but had that week off due to the unfortunate wild fires. Yeah, just realized that this girl could be around my age. hahha~ Before this job, I think she worked as a contractor for a year, after 5 yrs of college in UCSD. 5 years... hmmm... I wonder if she's a bachelor or a masters. I think she's probably a bachelor given that she doesn't seem to know a lot more than I do. There's probably a semester's worth of co-op involved, plus some slacking. Anyway, even so, given that she had her education here, I think she's probably as young as I am. wahahha... finally a counterpart, here to be as green as I am... but i think she's a little better in this field, since she has worked somewhere else before coming.

Minions. That's the word I'd say engineers, especially myself, are. Whatever the top wants, we'd have to give. If the top wants this to combine with that, we have to work through how to achieve that. They say it, we do it. They get the money, we be the dummy. Life is fair.

Meetings = lectures in senior year. I really don't see the difference. All are spoken in English Version 2.0.

I realize a very interesting thing about tea that is very different from my personal habits. People here really followed the instructions on the box and only use 1 tea bag per cup. Moreover, they like to stay in the atrium, dip the tea bag in the cup of hot water, and throw it away before leaving with the cup of tea they just made. Japanese and Americans alike. That's really unlike what my apartment mates and myself normally do, ie, use the tea bag for a few cups before changing a new one. Even now, I leave the first tea bag in the cup when I open a second one, instead of throwing it away. Oh well... my guess is that it's free, so can stick to one tea bag per cup policy. People... how practical can we be.

On to another topic. I was talking with this girl I mentioned earlier today, about the furniture I got. And she was so surprised that I got my queen-size Simmons bed for only $548. She got hers for $700ish, and it's only full size! And what's more, I was looking at an advertisement I got in the mail a few days ago, and saw the exact same dining table I got for a full hundred bucks more! That's like 30% extra!!! Which means, I saved like $300 for these two things, just by looking around more and find the best deals. My bro was saying, I waste gas money by traveling here and there. Well, what is 30 bucks worth of gas compared to 300 bucks saved, and satisfaction guaranteed? Really, I owe this to my buddy man... He's the master in this. hahaha~ He's at least 10 times better than me... so imagine if I spent a week looking at furniture...

Alright, that's about it for updates. Maybe if I'm feeling free this weekend, I shall go visit the debris and see how bad things were. So probably there'll be pictures if I do. hehe~ First time leh...

Inspiration Quotes

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
