The third day of work! Awww!!! Bor---ring!!!
hahah~ It's only the third day and I'm getting bored! There're just so much things to read and catch up on, and worst thing is I don't really know what the hell this is all about! I mean, I know what the thing does, but I don't know how to make it do what they're supposed to do! Of course, I've not actually started work on anything. Was looking at some of the documentation, at my colleagues, and realized I know less than I thought I did. Oh well. But my colleagues are really nice. They told me to pick up slowly... as one simply can't pick up to speed overnight. Well, that is true. Perhaps, I'm just giving too much rush on myself, and pressure... yet again... when no one is actually giving me that. Maybe I should just relax and take my time learning the stuff. Anyway, my ignorance aside. I've got my own tv!!! A 37" LCD HDTV!!! On the second day of work!!! Wahahah~ Of course, it isn't at home. It's beside my table. haha~ Anyway, the entire floor works on the tv, and so there're like huge tvs everywhere. And it's kinda amusing when one presses the remote to turn on one's tv, and the other tv at the next table turns on as well. Luckily that guy isn't here today, otherwise he'd probably think I'm playing with his set, when I'm really trying to turn mine on, without turning on his. All in all, it's just feels good to have a tv set right behind you. Not only does it offer greater concealment, it also offers greater responsibility and sense of importance. At least, I'm not, or I hope that I'm not, a free loader in the team. Well, it's actually quite understandable that I'm not expected to know anything. First, my position as an associate software engineer says it all. And in addition to that, I realized I'm possibly the youngest in the office! I don't think there's anyone who's younger than me, possibly even Naomi! Ooh that girl! She's in the same office as I am!!! Wooooot!!! Wahahaha~ But unfortunately she's married :'( Boo! But I sorta guessed, or at least with my bro's gut feelings... So I'm actually quite alright with that. At least she sent me 2 emails already!!! wahhaahaha~ Anyway, even Naomi may be slightly older than me, or in the least the same age. There's another guy whom I initially thought was quite close to my age, or at least my stage of life. But he actually had worked for 2.5 years somewhere before coming over. So I guess, I'm probably not expected to be able to contribute as much as the others, or at least for the next half a year. I will work hard though. Anyway, the thing I like about this place is they focus on results, rather than time, which is really unlike singapore or any asian countries, where one must really be busy or act busy for the 10 hours there. So therefore, I get to go to office anytime I wish and leave anytime I like. But because of that, I think the team lacks a bit of interaction. Everyone seems to be just doing their own work all or most of the time. Or maybe it's because I'm sitting far away from others and I'm too young a brat to communicate with. Oh well... Politics? I don't really feel that there is any, and even if there's any, it doesn't really concern me, since I'm a recruit here and I'll ORD in 2 years!... or maybe 1 yr 10 months!!! hahaha~ But even though the office hours are own time own target, I still don't feel right if I come too much later than 9 or leave at 5!!! It feels a little geng-ish to me... Probably I'm still not used to such a working style... Or probably it's just because I'm new there and still don't have anything concrete to work on, which means that I really don't have anything to do, and I could have left much earlier to come home and study instead. But it's probably won't leave a good impression on the others. Oh well... much things to learn at work. And I feel so tired every time I come back. Maybe I should come back earlier in future, so that I'd at least still have some energy to go for a short run. hehe~ Better go shower and sleep soon. Tata! |
