Read from Jess's blog about calling names. No, not about friends calling each other names or an ah beng having a conversation with a staring stranger. It's about naming your children. In essence, the report says your naming of your children has got to do with their future. A more manly name like Alex will result in a more manly profession like Scientist (Don't really agree that this is a manly profession in this age. But if compared to knitting, that's probably pretty manly). A more feminine name like Isabelle tends to pursue a more feminine profession like art (Don't really agree that art is that feminine too, actually). I guess, that makes a little sense. After all, people do react differently to Alex and Isabelle.

Come to think of it, perhaps my feminine characteristics are partially results from my name too. Jun... which sounds like June, is pretty feminine until one sees how well-built that person is. :P. But come to think of it, I think I'm really quite feminine in many ways. I guess that's why I'm so affected by different stages of life where people part. The thought of not being able to see someone I value for the next 7 years, makes me sad.

Seven of us, 5 will be working together. 1 will be in Japan. And 1 in US. The 5 working together naturally don't have much reasons to be affected, cos it's only 2 less people around, and 1 of them probably isn't as significant. The one going to japan, though a girl, probably is much stronger than I am in terms of human relations. For me, what I'll be missing is not 2 people, but 6, of which I value 1 much more than the others. These 6 people have been with me through one of the most important stages of my life, the 3 years which transformed me immensely. Which is why these 6 people also deserved my making of video for them. Cos that shows how much I appreciated them. But after 2 weeks, we will have to part. Or at least, I will have to part with them, not back to home where all my other friends are, but to another place which I'll be unfamiliar with. But this time is different from 3 years ago. 3 years ago, I have these 6 friends from home. This time, I'm really alone. Alone in this new stage of life. Who can I turn to with my fears? What meaningful possessions can I look at other than the four walls in that empty apartment in Rolling Meadows when I'm bored at night?

I remember someone told me that I should say out whatever's troubling me, so that that someone can do something about it. So I did. But seems to me the results were no different than not saying out, or in fact, worse. Oh well... Looks like I need a lot more practise on this. I'm really not good at this. After all, I've never done this before.

Anyway, shall dedicate the next few lines just for you.

Just wanna let you know, I really do cherish you. You are a real friend. And just by being there, and the many intangible things that you've done for me, makes you distinct from many others. I know you treat me like a real friend too. Sorry. It's just the choice of my name that makes me an over-sentimental person. I'm now contented with what you've already sacrificed for me.

End of dedication.

But I'm still proud to be a sentimental person. =) I still look at the photo frames on my shelf! Sihui's one, my buddy's one and the one which Nic and friends gave in ermz... J2? Nic was so unchio then. hahaha~ And herc's still a shadow! My shadow!!! Not even his!!!

***Try dragging me and my friends *** =)

Inspiration Quotes

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
