My Strengths and Weaknesses, Likes and Dislikes

Strengths and Likes:

1) Sports: All kind, especially Basketball (#1 Fav), Ping Pong (#2 Fav), Badminton (#3 Fav), Soccer, Squash, Tennis...

2) Music Composition: Soft, Sad, Sweet Romantic ones are my favorites! Next target is Cool Game Music on my Cool Organ!!! =)

3) Musical Instruments: Electone (#1 fav. Can't wait to lay my hands on cool jap anime/game/pop song books for electone. Narita Airport. yeah!), Piano (Still learning. Quite Cool.), Harmonica (Reached a certain level, but don't really have the interest to switch to a more sophisticated one). Would like to learn guitar and probably violin, but probably after mastering the Electone and piano first.

4) Adventurous / Readiness to try new things (that're to my interest, esp creative stuff):

a) Biking. Have reached a better than average level. But probably not very interested in trying
out dangerous stunts like jumping up/down a flight of steps.

b) Roller Blading/Ice Skating: Errr... Much to be learnt.

c) Video Editing/MTV: Much to be learnt too. But it's really fun. Needs enthusiastic partners though.

d) Drawing: Just started. Quite fun! Loves drawing cool/cute anime figures. Of course, main aim is to learn to draw those cute Jap anime gals. mwahahaha~ Wants to extend to real-life physical objects/scenery.

e) Inventing: Still in a very rudimentary stage. Much to be learnt, but will be one of the life goals.

f) Rock Climbing: Haven't tried it yet, but it sure sounds fun! Wonders if the clumsy self will be a hindrance to rock climbing though.

5) Cooking: Not a strength, but more of a liking. Have reached a certain level, but waiting to break through that glass ceiling. Needs time to experiment new stuff.

6) Gaming: Loves HMM series, Warlords, Red Alert, Diablo (ie Chinese and English RPG), Bomberman, SF kind of games. Sports? Not so much, but still okay. Can't stand the Sims, but Theme Hospital/Sim Isle are okay. RailRoad Tycoon? Haven't tried it yet. Oh well, basically loves quite a wide range of games, but NO GOLF! Haven't really dared to indulge in a game since JC though. Did so during hols sometimes, however.

7) Chinese Culture:
a) Wushu: Haven't really been in Wushu since JC. But still loves it as much. Probably won't be going back to the rigorous training, but will be likely to intro my children to it. Still loves watching Kungfu movies and Wushu Competitions. Brings back sweet memories.

b) Chinese pop: Esp those soft romantic kind. Female singers yeah! hahaha~ okay, Fav guy singer now is 光良.

c) Chinese variety shows and kung fu movies.

d) Karaoke? Not so much due to my horrendous vocals. But will still go sometimes to entertain friends. :P Have been working on it and disturbing apt mates in the process. Fun to sing alone though. English songs? Nah, can't even handle chinese songs already... Loves to sing some of the english ones though. Eg. Once upon a december, At the beginning, some Corrinne May songs and some Michael Learns to Rock songs. That's about all the english songs I have anyway. ahha~

Weaknesses / Dislikes:
1) English Conversational Skills: Been always a hindrance during Oral Examinations. Will work harder on it when I graduate and have more time. Need that for sweet talking and persuasion skills.

2) Books: Haven't been reading much since a little kid even though I'm always surrounded by books. Realized the importance of it in the recent years. Will definitely work hard on it when I graduate. Am now buried in Textbooks. Sad. Should start now though. Will need that to socialize better with peoplem, esp business associates.

3) Myopic: Though true with eyesight, this is even more so mentally. Needs to read more to broaden my knowledge and make more informed decisions.

4) Memory Problem: Well, no one can remember everything. Will just pick those that I'm interested in remembering. Got to remember more stuff though. Our memory capacity is virtually limitless.

5) Thrills: Have grown to dislike thrills and fast speeds. Arrgh! Skiing? Probably stick to the most basic kind at most.

6) Sense of Humor: This thing is weird for me. It comes out well for certain people, but shys away for others. Hmmm... Wonder what I can do about it.

7) Patience: Still need to work hard on it. Determined to complete the task He has set for me.

8) Too helpful? Oh well, not sure if it's a weakness. It's good in the business world, but it sux when it's not rewarded with appreciation. Perhaps the weakness here is the expectation of reward... This is bad bad... Am easily influenced by classical conditioning.

9) Temper: Generally good temper, but when it comes it's probably a really nasty one. Often self-inflicted. So in the end, a flare-up tends to saddens the self rather than the others.

Oh well, probably gotta get mugging.

Things to accomplish this semester:
1) Studies.
2) UW FEC.
3) GMAT (probably will have to take next sem though).
4) Schoofs.
5) Read a book.
6) Cultivate Patience

Others are secondary. Focus Focus Focus.

Inspiration Quotes

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
