I HAVE DECIDED TO JOIN UW-FEC - UW Future Energy Challenge!!! Am joining as a volunteer though, and I don't think I'll be in the competition... After all, the judging and stuff comes in August, when I'd hopefully have already graduated... Somehow I get a feeling I may have to stay for another semester after all, or at least summer... Things aren't looking that good now... But if everything goes as planned, I'll make it by May!!!
Anyway, quite excited to join this team. If i was enlightened earlier, I'd have joined stuff like that long ago, and not take up this sucky leadership position... It feels so damn different being a capable follower rather than a useless leader manz... plus, this is so more related to what I'm doing. But at least, finally I've found something to focus on, something worthwhile to invest my time in and learn. Don't think I'm going to join Schoofs this time round, can't learn much working alone.
But FEC is really quite a professional group. Other than faculty advisors, we even have a project manager from the Department of Energy. They also have quite a bit of sponsorship from companies, like a 400W and 1.6kW wind generator, 1kW Solar Generator, a hydro-generator... Moreover, it's tied to WEMPEC, one of the greatest laboratory in US. The good part is the admin and financial part of the project has been taken care of, and probably my part is to help in designing the thing. Quite excited on learning to use "Programmable System on Chip", a software used to design systems. Come on, it's an industry software manz, definitely a good asset in this area. hehe~
hehe~ How can I talk so long about this without mentioning what we're doing. We're making a universal battery charger that runs on Renewable Energy! Have to admit, it sounds miserable at first though, but think it's pretty cool after all... plus, I get to learn lotsa stuff from this! Hopefully I'd learn enough from it to realize my dream... a distant dream which is now within closer reach...
Alright I must focus on this one! But right now, I guess I should start working on my pre-lab for the lab tomorrow... tata~
