OMG!!! Class is cancelled because of heavy snowfall?!! wahahha` this is really the first time I experience class cancellation due to bad weather. This is what you get in a crazy place like Madison... You'd never get "incentives" like this in hot sunny SG, cuz the sun ain't going up to temperatures like 50 degrees or going down to -30 degrees... and the drainage in SG is too good for any severe flooding, unlike the past. Anyway, back to Mad Town, this is the first time since 1990 when classes were cancelled due to snow storms. They had 17 inches of snow then... omg! And I was trying to measure the thickness of the snow just now... it was only around the size of a palm, which is about 7 inches... maybe after a couple of hours, it's going more than that... CUZ IT HASN'T STOPPED SNOWING SINCE LAST NIGHT!!! AND IT'S ALREADY 5PM HERE!!! yeah... and the worst is yet to come, when tomorrow, it's going to drop to -23 degrees... ha ha ha... so fun eh... Anyway, should build snowman tonight... wahahhaha~ So much snow all around... It was really cool in the morning when the snow covered the whole town... MADison suudenly turned into a countryside-like town... Everywhere was so peaceful and serene... Few pple were walking in the streets (because I was late for class) and those who were in the streets had to stagger through thick piles of snow in order to get to the other side of the road and into the buildings they were heading for... Cars made absolutely no noise at all, on the soft white snowy roads... of course, since no one with a sane mind would dare to jam the accelerator in such crazy weather... It was such a rare and yet serene feeling in the midst of overpowering classes this semester... Well, I guess this is the worst it can be... probably MADison will face another couple bouts of snowfall before it gives way to Spring... (Yeah, and my friend was saying that this winter is quite warm. yeah warm enough to cancel classes... hahaa) Alright, Will be wearing my Full Battle Order (FBO) when I go for badminton later... haha~ and that means 3 layers of clothing (which sees an exponential increase in terms of thickness from the innermost layer to the outermost), a neck warmer, a Beanie (or a hat) and a pair of gloves to engage in potential snowball fights that I sense coming tonight... haha~ Maybe gotta add another scarf tomorrow when it gets down to -23 deg... The coldest tonight is only -13 deg, which is a pretty nice temperature, provided you have the right thickness of clothing on.

Yeah, they are finally installing wheelchair ramps in SBS buses... was waiting to see how long SG is going to do that... it's like a norm for many years in US already... Well, all buses here are handicap friendly, with automatic ramps in every bus... perhaps it's just US la... they think more for the wheelchair-bound people... unlike sg... always about $$... Not that US really wants to do that in my opinion, but i guess it's because of social pressure... Tongues will wag if you don't care for the handicapped. haha~ and they are saying that the no. of wheel chair users in SG is low... well, when you know that you can't get around very much when you are on wheelchair, you'd probably force yourself to walk (so that you can take the bus) as long as your feet allow you to. hmm... anyway, i think they are only BS-ing when they say it's not going to affect the bus fares... yeah, not now when they're high on reserves... when they become lower than what they would like to be one day because of this, they're probably changing their stand... "oh we're earning less this year. So let's have a slight increase in bus fares. Just 5c this week."

haha anyway, going out for free food!!! Hope they still have it... in this rotten weather... if not i'll just settle with ice kachang at the roadside... :P
