okay it's been quite some while since i last updated this thingy... and the counter up there hasn't been changed for quite some time either i guess... anyway, who's still reading this dormant blog? Anyway has been rather busy lately (or since when i was free?), but i'm updating this thing cuz i'm feeling super bored of studying (not that i've nothing to do - I have loads of stuff waiting for my attention!!!)! Can't seem to understand much of the stuff in the physics textbook anyway... sighz... it really gives me a rather insecure feeling, though i got an AB for the last exam. It was like, I don't know what the hell is happening and somehow or other, I managed to bullshit and use some equations here and there to get the points. In addition, the questions asked in the exam are of super elementary level! I could easily come up with a question which is many times harder!!! (just pick one from the homework will do.)

Anyway, this post's topic is about creativity. Why did I choose to be an engineer? Yeah, it's all about creativity and about making something that is different from others. That is what I like. To be special, to be unique and to be original. But I have been chewing on this recently, especially after having gone to this talk about business plans yesterday. It just dawned on me that actually almost all the majors in the college is about creativity in its own way. Think of Science, which many of my friends here are taking. It's about research and experiment. It's about doing something that has never been done before. Well, some may say that the experiments they are doing now are just boring replicates of someone else's. Well, yes, they are indeed. But this is only the learning process. Eventually they'd be doing their own research of some kind somewhere about some stuff. Even for me, I'm replicating models which are already in the market and has long been obsolete. Sometimes, i just wonder why am i doing all this when i see that i have so much to catch up with the others. How am I able to compete? Anyway, other than science and engineering, Music is another form of creativity, obviously. You create your own piece of music in your own distinct style. Even for languages like French and Japanese, you write your own essays. What about Journalism? That obviously involves creativity. Media and stuff? Sure! You have to make your own videos, or if you are doing an advertisement, you are already squeezing your creative juices. What about the dullest major, Medicine? That obviously lacks creativity?! yeah, indeed, memorizing all those lactobaccilus or penicillin or what stuff are indeed dulling the right brain. But when applying your medical knowledge to serve patients with different ailments, you've got to be creative enough in your prescription (though you can't be too creative in this area). When i say creative, I mean, doctors have to look at different situations and give different treatments. Like, if this drug is not working, how about trying a different treatment, like a placebo. And if it works, you owe it to your own creativity in making it happen. I think you need the most creative brains in businesses, especially in writing your business plan. What service or product are you specializing in? How do you do it in a way so that it gives you an edge over others in the same trade? Obviously setting up standard kopitiams all over singapore lacks creativity. I can easily think of many ways to make it many times better man. Well, those hotels and casinos in LV are certainly most creative, I must say. Why then, can't our country be something like that? It's generally so dull in terms of appearance in sg. Where have those creative juices of those businessmen gone to? Anyway, yeah, I think those in business have a lot of creativity, in order to excel in the business. With that I guess, most majors require creativity to quite a significant extent. Why then did I choose engineering, when the main reason is for me to choose it is to be original? Perhaps this is the path I'm fated to tread on, and im beginning to love it more and more, despite the innumerable complaints i have about programming and designing.

And Perhaps the most uncreative major in college is the history major.

Inspiration Quotes

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
